How to Use
A safety razor takes a shave or two to get used to. Here is everything you need for a clean, comfortable shave.
1. Prep
Shave after a warm shower, or splash your face with warm water for a minute. Warm, damp hair cuts more easily.
2. Load the blade
Open the head of the razor, set a fresh blade on the guide posts, then close it and tighten until snug. Always hold the blade by its short ends.
3. Lather
Squeeze a dab the size of an almond. Foam it with your hands or with a brush, then work it into your beard.
4. Shave
Hold the razor at roughly a 30-degree angle to your skin. Use short, light strokes and let the weight of the razor do the work. No pressure needed. Go with the grain first, and rinse the head between strokes.
5. Rinse and finish
Rinse your face with cool water, pat dry, and follow with aftershave balm.
6. Care for your razor
Rinse the razor under warm water, shake off the excess and let it dry in an open spot. Store it somewhere dry between shaves.
7. Change your blade
Swap in a fresh blade every 3 to 7 shaves, or as soon as it starts to tug. Drop used blades into a blade bank or a closed container before throwing them away.
